It’s the last day of March, which means it’s the last day of National MS Month, but the need for awareness doesn’t end here!

One great awareness activity we’re excited is Walk MS.

Walk MS is hosted by the National MS Society, which is also the largest private funder of Multiple Sclerosis research in the world. It is a non-profit organization headquartered in New York that was founded in 1946. NMSS does a phenomenal job funding research, while also raising awareness to end the disease for good.

The walk started in 1988 and has since raised over $1 Billion. Each year, there are over 400 walks and more than 300,000 people participate. In 2018 alone there have already been 10 walks in 4 different states, with the most recent walk (Orlando) raising $78,706.26. In 2017, Walk MS Birmingham had more than 1000 people donate, totaling donations greater than $300,000.

Each walk is fully-accessible, has multiple distance options, and contains volunteers that support the walkers. The goal of these walks is to bring the community together and offer support to those battling this disease.
