Staying active in the workplace can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. It helps keep our minds and bodies sharp throughout the day. Rid yourself of that 3 o’clock slump for good by simply keeping active from 8 to 5. Keep reading for a few tips to help make this more achievable! It’s important to note that physical activity looks different for each person and every little bit counts. The average recommendation is 30 minutes of aerobic physical activity 5 days a week, including but not limited to 2 days of strength training. But, like we said before, every little bit counts, especially at the office. Can you take the long way to the break room? Or maybe you have 10 minutes to spare for a quick walk around the building? (Step Trackers: a 10-minute walk yields about 1,000 steps for the average person!) It all counts!

Using the resources you have on hand is the best, inexpensive way to exercise! For instance, a walk is FREE! If you’re able to squeeze in a quick workout on your lunch break, don’t forget the bodyweight exercises – squats, pushups, arm dips using a table or chair, and stretch band exercises are a few of our favorites!

There are so many reasons to stay active. For one, physical activity has been linked to improved brain function, which helps us at the office. In addition, an active lifestyle can lower your risk of developing a chronic condition.

  • Direct and indirect savings for that company
