BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 13, 2018 / — Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. and Pack Health, a health coaching company based in Birmingham, AL, today announced results from a joint initiative to improve the health of employees with chronic conditions.

As a pilot project, Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. offered Pack Health’s condition-specific health coaching programs for weight management, type 2 diabetes, diabetes prevention, dyslipidemia, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer to 200 employees last August. Those 200 spots filled in 2 days.

The two companies have since expanded the initiative and have seen promising results. Participants have improved medication adherence by 9%, health literacy by 34%, and lost ten pounds on average in their first three months.

“[My Pack Health Advisor] has helped me with my diet regime and my life and fitness goals,” says participant Mike Lushington. “I am on my way to the healthiest I have ever been and there is no way I could have even started without her help.”

Pack Health’s coaching platform pairs employees with a dedicated Health Advisor, who provides support on their schedule through calls, text messages, and emails, according to the individual’s communication preferences. They cover everything from diet and exercise to budgeting and care coordination, with condition-specific programming for over 20 chronic conditions.

Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. has a longstanding commitment to provide a variety of products for every lifestyle and occasion, along with information to help people make informed choices and live active, healthy lives.
